Privacy policy
What we collect, why, and what we do with it.
We Do Greetings Ltd takes your privacy seriously. This page explains, in plain English, how we handle your personal information under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
1. Who we are
WE DO GREETINGS is the trading name of We Do Greetings Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 14918382, with its registered office at Unit A, 82 James Carter Road, Mildenhall, Suffolk IP28 7DE. We run our personalised sign hire service through a network of local installers across the UK. For the purposes of data protection law, We Do Greetings Ltd is the "data controller" for the information you give us. You can reach us about anything in this policy at info@wedogreetings.co.uk.
2. What we collect
When you enquire or book we collect your name, email address, mobile number, the set-up address and postcode, the date and details of your booking, and anything you tell us about the occasion (for example the name and age going on the sign). If you pay us, our payment provider processes your card details; we never see or store your full card number.
3. Why we use it
We use your details to check availability, quote, confirm and deliver your booking, to contact you about set-up and collection, to take payment and issue invoices, and to deal with any questions or problems afterwards. The legal basis for this is that it's necessary to carry out our contract with you. We may also keep records to meet our legal and accounting obligations.
4. Who we share it with
To deliver your booking we pass your name, contact details, address and booking details to the local installer handling your job. Installers may only use them for your booking. We also use trusted service providers to run our website, email, payments and bookings; they process your data on our instructions and can't use it for their own purposes. We don't sell your details to anyone, and we don't share them with third parties for marketing. Our sister company's services (We Do Parties) are only offered to you if you ask about them.
5. Marketing
We'll only send you marketing emails or messages if you've told us you'd like them, and you can stop them at any time using the unsubscribe link or by emailing us. We may send a follow-up after your booking asking how it went; you can opt out of that too.
6. Photos of your display
We sometimes photograph a finished display for our website and social media. These photos show the sign, not your address, and we won't include people without their agreement. Tell your installer at set-up if you'd rather we didn't take any. If a photo of you or your family appears on our channels and you'd like it removed, email us and we'll take it down.
7. How long we keep it
We keep booking records for six years after the booking, because tax law requires it. Enquiries that don't turn into a booking are deleted after 12 months. Marketing consents are kept until you withdraw them.
8. Keeping it safe
Your details are stored on password-protected, access-controlled systems and shared with installers only for the booking they're handling. Payments are handled by providers who meet the card industry's security standards.
9. Cookies and our website
Our website uses only the cookies it needs to work, plus basic, anonymous visitor statistics so we can see which pages are useful. We don't use advertising cookies or track you across other websites. Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your IP address when the page loads; no other information is passed to them.
10. Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected if it's wrong, to have it deleted where we no longer need it, and to object to or restrict how we use it. To exercise any of these, email info@wedogreetings.co.uk. We'll respond within one month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
11. Children
Many of our signs are for children's celebrations, but our customers are adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16, and the child's name and age on a sign is used only to make that sign.
12. Changes to this policy
If we change how we use your information we'll update this page and change the date below. Significant changes will be flagged on the website or by email if you have an active booking.
